THE OUTRAGEOUS IDEA OF CHRISTIAN SCHOLARSHIP
Tuesdays, 6:00PM
Begins February 13, Spring Term, 7 sessions
Harvard Catholic Center/St. Paul’s, Cambridge, MA
What is Christian Scholarship? And how can we pursue it within increasingly secular institutions? Through a close reading of George M. Marsden's The Outrageous Idea of Christian Scholarship and some secondary essays, this reading group will delve into how Catholic thought enriches the pursuit of learning. Whether you’re committed to pursuing a career in the academy or just someone who loves intellectual inquiry, together we will refine our understanding of what it means to be a Christian scholar in an increasingly secular world. Dinner provided.
Marsden’s text will be provided to registered participants, available for pick up in advance from the HCF office.
Group led by HCF Undergraduate Fellow LyLena Estabine.
