Summer, Sundays 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM (Note time change from spring semester)
Begins June 21, runs through August
St. Paul's Campus
Instructor: Adam Ziccardi, Harvard Catholic Forum
This workshop invites participants of various skill levels to learn and sing chants, hymns, and psalms, and learn the history of liturgical music. Weeks will alternate between a Harmony Session and a History & Chant Session.
Harmony Session: Practice 4-part harmony through choral pieces, harmonized chants, and psalm harmony, selecting pieces that are fun, beautiful, and instructive for building skills. E.g., 4-part Regina Caeli, or an Anglican psalm.
History & Chant Session: Learn the history of chants and their place in the liturgical calendar, singing them in unison. Then: learn the Liturgy of the Hours in Latin.
Schedule of Sessions will be distributed to registrants. Come to either or both!
