READING THE LIVES OF THE SAINTS

Reading a range of different genres, we will consider the various ways Christians have sought holiness: the martyrs Perpetua and Felicity, the hermit St. Antony, the ascetic St. Macrina, and the stirring lives of Saints Francis, Teresa, and Ignatius. We’ll ask: What sorts of virtue do they embody? What do they reveal about the relationship of nature and grace in forming holy lives?
Readings distributed to registrants. Light lunch served.
