Since the early 20th century, governments and political groups in Europe and the Middle East mobilized a discourse of "antizionism" to support actions against local Jews and Jewish communities in their own countries. Today, these politics have crossed the ocean to the US and become associated with targeting of Jewish business and houses of worship, litmus tests for entry into progressive coalitions, exclusion of Israeli and Israel-connected American Jews from social spaces, and, at the extreme, assaults, arson and murder. Have discourses and practices of antizionism forged in other times and places adapted to become a political force endangering Jews here in the United States today?
